Cranberry Cosmo

Nothing says winter like a cranberry cocktail. The sweet, tangy fruit paired with a classic cosmopolitan creates the perfect winter season cocktail.

Ingredients

  • 1 lime
  • 2 heaped tablespoons superfine sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon fine edible gold glitter
  • 2 cocktail stirrers or skewers
  • 12 to 14 fresh or frozen cranberries
  • 2 sprigs fresh thyme
  • 2 tablespoons Cointreau or orange flavored liquor
  • 2 1/2 fluid ounces of vodka
  • 2 1/2 fluid ounces cranberry juice
  • 2 heaped teaspoons of cranberry sauce

Instructions

Cut the lime in half and run it around the edge of a martini glass. Add sugar and the edible glitter to a plate and stir to mix well. Place one glass upside down into the mixture until the rim is covered. Set aside. Thread cranberries onto the cocktail skewers and wind thyme sprigs around the cranberries. Set aside. Fill a cocktail shaker halfway with ice. Add the vodka, cranberry sauce, cranberry juice, Cointreau, and the juice from the remainder of the lime. Add a lid to the shaker and shake thoroughly. Strain into the sugar-rimmed cocktail glass and top the beverage with the cranberry and thyme skewers.

Mulled Wine

The perfect cold weather beverage for special occasions is mulled wine. With hints of apple, cloves, and cinnamon, your guests can enjoy the sangria of winter.
